Chess is the most unique in all of the sport that is competed internationally. It doesn't involved physical exertion because it is the mental aspect that plays a major role. But then, if you're not conditioned physically you cannot compete with the big guns.

if chess is a sport, then so is scrabble and poker ... both are televised on espn, too ... and pool ... can't forget about pool ...

I guess Chess could be classed as a sport - it needs skill to be good at it. I used to play it when I was younger but have not played it now for whoa must be nearly 20 years.

Over here we call it "brain sport". Of course it's a difficult game where people have to concentrate and make great efforts, but nearly none is interested in watching it. So it's not shown in TV.

Never really got into Chess - I have played it a couple of times but was never very good at it :(

I don't think I could watch it if it was on all the time on a sports channel

My son is into Chess - he can play it very well my hubby hates that when my son can beat him :) he has always been good at picking things up and this is one of theM :)
