 Good Sleeping Habits
It has been told since we were young that having enough sleep will give us good health. Some say eight hours of sleep is the required time to achieve it.

Hours of sleep is a main factor. Quality is another. Sleep can be of varying degrees of quality, and many factors affect it. If anyone has specific sleep questions please post.

 Good Sleeping Habits
The average adult needs 7-9 hours sleep each evening; however, most get significantly less. You can improve your skin?s health and appearance simply by getting a good night?s sleep. If worries keep you awake try creating a to-do list or a journal to ease your mind. You should also avoid upsetting activities, such as drinking alcohol, heavy exercise or watching the news, within several hours of bedtime as these can disturb restful sleep.

I'm not so sure about that recommendation not to exercise in the hours before sleepign, would you care to provide something to conclusively show a decrease in sleep quality?
I'm also not quite sure about the skin thing, i don't believe the link between sleep:skin is that clear cut.

it is during sleep that your bodies repairs cells and does a lot of the "maintenance" on your body ... the more sleep you get, the more time your body has to repair itself ... also, during sleep, your body is more able to ward off infection and such ... acne is a bacteria and buildup ... your body, during sleep, can fight the bacteria ...
one of the reasons to avoid exercising before sleep is because it's a stimulating activity ... anything that physically stimulates your body or mind is considered taboo to do before bed ... that's also one of the reasons it is suggested that you don't eat right before bed, because it's also something that can stimulate you ... especially traditional "desert" type foods like cake or such ...
it takes your body time to wind down and shut down ... it's also suggested that you don't use the computer right before sleeping due to the brightness of the screen ... i should, but i fail to heed that advice ...

Obviously, good sleep ensures a good health and youthful appearance. In human body, all growth takes place during sleep. Sleep relaxes tired muscles, eases mental tension, rejuvenates and re-energizes and thus we feel fresh with renewed energy after waking up. So sleep has a strong effect on body & brain. Good sleep ensures a good health and youthful appearance.
Normally, our body requires 6 to 7 hours of sleep every night. In case of a baby, he has longest sleep cycle and it shortens progressively as he grows. Teenagers require more sleep than normal. As the case of an adult, the requirement of sleep diminishes. So, the amount of sleep depends in individual to remain healthy & active.
Indeed, better sleep leads to better health..

 Re: Good Sleeping Habits
The best way to get exactly the right amount of sleep is to set a specific time to wake up (you're going to have to use an alarm clock), and then go to sleep ONLY when you're tired. On the first night when you go to bed, you probably won't get that much sleep since you're not used to the pattern, but then your body will adjust so that you'll be tired earlier. Soon you'll be getting the exact amount of sleep your body needs, and you should feel alert and healthy (and awake) just in time for school.
